Week 27: More Mo Willems

March 18, 2019 Annette Hibbert Nelson

We are having a ball learning about Mo Willems and reading his books.

This week we have been reading the Pigeon books, and the children are always thrilled to discover a character from another series making an appearance.  We are writing responses about the books we’ve read, we learned how to draw Pigeon and we colored Mo Willems bookmarks.  My original plan was to conclude our Author Study today; the children begged to continue so we’ll do just that, at least for next week.

I have very exciting news!  Mo Willems has been named as the Kennedy Center Education Artist-In-Residence.  This new program begins this summer.  I shared this video this morning and promised to send you the link; I hope to participate in many of the activities and hope you can, too.
