Forest Fun

Each week, our K–8 students step into the woods for what we call Forest Fun—an hour where time seems to slow and imagination takes the lead. 🌲 Beneath the towering trees, laughter mingles with birdsong as children balance on fallen logs, build fairy houses from moss and twigs, and discover the small, shining treasures nature leaves behind.

With just two simple rules—stay in the designated area and stay dry—they learn far more than how to navigate the forest floor. They learn to collaborate, to care, to wonder. They begin to see how nature can both protect and inspire, reminding them that learning doesn’t only happen inside four walls.

At one of the best private schools in Silver Spring, MD, these moments of exploration are more than play—they’re an invitation to grow roots of curiosity, creativity, and care for the world around them.
